Letter From The Directors

Welcome, and thank you for visiting the Waterville EMS website.
Since 1959, our department has proudly served the Waterville community as well as the residents and visitors of Douglas County. We live by the motto “Neighbors Helping Neighbors.” Our team is made up of local volunteers and professionals committed to delivering high-quality emergency medical care to our rural district.
Whether we’re responding to 911 calls, standing by at community events, or mentoring new EMTs, our goal is always the same: to show up with integrity and compassion. As public servants and community leaders, we take great pride in our commitment to service. We strive to provide care with competence, compassion, and humility, ensuring every individual we serve is treated with respect and professionalism.

Waterville EMS is guided by a strong leadership team with complementary strengths. Andrea brings years of experience in human resources and finance management, as well as a background in the Fire service, making her an invaluable asset for the administrative side of our operations. Gage offers nearly 15 years of field experience in EMS, including a decade in leadership roles and also serves on the county CISM team and is PEER support trained. Together, we’re focused on building a sustainable, responsive, and community-rooted service, one that supports both our providers and the people we serve.
We are incredibly proud of the people who wear this uniform, not just for what they do, but for why they do it. Many of our team members began with no prior medical experience, just a desire to make a difference. Today, they’re trained responders who show up in all conditions, at all hours, ready to help when it matters most.
As our community grows, so does our department. With that growth come new opportunities to get involved. If you’ve ever considered joining us, now is a great time. Whether it’s serving on an ambulance, helping behind the scenes, or supporting us from the sidelines, there’s a place for you here.
Thank you for your continued trust, encouragement, and support.
Sincerely,
Andrea & Gage
